Orchard Central
My date for the day, the woman behind 21 years of my life and counting.

Visited a flagship store from Food Republic, MEDZS. Serving Mediterranean cuisine ranging from Italian, France, Greece and Turkey.

Was a little thankful this meal was not in our agenda, instead just happened to chance upon and thought my mum would like a try. Reason being, it was a disappointment. We were there on a weekday and during lunch as well, MEDZS had a special lunch set menu going on with a limited choice of main course + drink + dessert at $12.90.

Ordered the salad-of-the-day, Caesar Salad, and Pork Paella. The salad was good, i mean what could possibly go wrong unless the greens were not fresh and it would be a big disaster if they over-powered the dressing. As for the paella, it was rather tasty. Could've been much better if they went easy on the amount of oil, but we made a guess that the oil was from the amount of fats the layered pork had. More of 3/4 fats and 1/4 meat.

Anything out of their value lunch set, i would not recommend it at all. The food was alright but we expected something better, but for the price we were paying we found it alright and value-for-money. If we were to pay the full price, N-O.

Ordered an extra main course without the set, Shish Mixed Kebab (Beef + Chicken + supposedly Lamb which was not ready when we arrived). Disappointing dish as it was plainly stir-fry meat to us instead, not much Turkish influence except for the sauces.

Ended off with a carrot cake as part of the set meal. A little too sweet to my liking, but after scraping off the layers of cream cheese, it was aweeeeesome! :> A really light and fluffy cake, just what a cake should be.

Afterwhich, brought mum to visit the newly opened Spanish Doughnuts (CLOSED) store right above at Level 5! I was so happy to be able to patronize the store, but to my disappointment of not being able to try their cold churros.

The variety they had was,
Original with Choco dip
Hot Churros with filling
Cold Churros with willing and coated with different flavours.

Was so tempted to try their Hazelnut Churros (Caramel filled coated with chocolate and topped with nuts), but sadly it is not recommended for take away as it would melt by the time we got home. Hence, settled for the original choco dip churros which was just as good.
