Due to time constraints, i decided to take the easier route out and use Betty Crocker's cake mix as well as vanilla frosting. If you're looking for a quick/easy bake, i would strongly recommend Betty Crocker's pre-mixes which can be found in any supermarket (except for the vanilla frosting which is only available in Cold Storage).
Simple steps to follow; just have to add a little water + vegetable oil + a couple of eggs, mix them up and you're good to go! However as usual, depending on the heat of your microwave and size of cake, i'll recommend to estimate the timing properly. Mine took 35 minutes before i removed it from the oven, covered it with aluminium foil (to prevent the top from being burnt) and placed it back in for another 15 minutes which came out perfect after that!
Allowed it to cool on the rack while i took a trip down to Kovan's Cold Storage to grab vanilla frosting. Thankfully the slicing of cake was rather successful with the help of Mummyliew. As it was rather short as compared to the height of kitkats, we used the remains as a form of decoration as shown below.
Added a little lemon juice and vanilla essence to the frosting as well cause it was much too sweet for my taste buds.
Lastly, topped it with crushed oreos and peanut butter M&Ms for some colour. Need much improvement on decorations though. Anyhoo, hope she'll still like it. :>
Oh and not forgetting, meal prep for the day!
Got abit tired from half a day of baking, i settled with Japanese Buckwheat Soba tossed with oyster sauce and pepper, with mushroom omelette and boiled vegetables as sides, pomegranate juice and sweet potatoes as snacks.
