An update has been calling but i've been too lazy to get my ass to do anything. Tied down with work lately and had a go of killer sprint sets for 3 hours at Kallang. It was indeed satisfying judging by how we haven't felt such fire and aggression in forever. Really take my hat off to the guys for that, and thank you for the experience. As much as i wish to be a part of your army, i guess there's greater things ahead that i've to weigh, hence have decided to let this oppurtunity go.

Okay, scrape that.

Throwing back to 2 weeks ago, specifically 28/03/14... the day i traveled our little tropical rainforest (though the absence of much rain recently): Choa Chu Kang > Clementi > Bukit Timah > Lor Kilat > Cathay > Gardens By The Bay > Sembawang > Serangoon. (All would not have been possible if not for *小白) Swear it was the longest day i've ever had, got so shagged out but it was productively good and satisfying to the soul. :>

Tomb Sweeping Day (清明节) at Choa Chu Kang with the family then headed to SIM to submit my documents before the ahhai came to pick me and refused to tell where we were heading to (well he's been trying really hard to surprise me cause apparently i'd always find out somehow before he does) and his hint to me was "Thomas the Train". Okay, will do.

Bukit Timah Railway Station
5 King Albert Park, 598287 (asp Google Map)
Well, it's not as ulu as many would expect it to be. Entrance is right behind the bus stop (yes, it can be accessed by the main road).

It was a little disappointing for us as we expected more than what was left behind. Based on reviews, there was suppose to be a long track leading us somewhere else but all we could see from our location was humble grass, hence we decided not to venture farther. Nevertheless, another bucket list checked. :>

At crossroads, towards the right you'll see a discontinued track ...

And if you walk towards the left, you'll see a prominent black bridge where most would have their pictorial memories captured. A pity we did not get our share of photos there cause there were other commuters as well and we didn't wish to disrupt their enjoyment there. Ohwells.

Afterwhich, we had a cooling ride (finally there was wind) to Carpenter and Cook where we settled for lunch. That place was awesome, judging by how they had Udders + Carpenter and Cook + Nook! House of Pancakes just in that stretch of shop houses and many other eateries around that area. For a moment i wish i lived there.

The place had a really old-school ambience which brought back much memories i must say. We were rather amazed by the antiques they had as furnishing, from old-school usable typewriters to old-school benches and cups etc. Go find it out yourselves!

From their wide array of sandwiches, pastries and desserts to choose from, we settled with their signatures for a go.

Can't remember their names exactly, but let me try; in a clockwise direction: vanilla cake with lemon icing, pumpkin quiche, pizza bread, lemon citrus tart, mango meringue tart.
Okay lesson learned, i'll take note of their names the next time. HAHA oops.

Just know their food is amazing (especially when it's made fresh daily). I loved the pizza bread, the crust wasnt too thick and the ingredients of mushroom/ham/cheese complemented each other perfectly. The rest were awesome too, just that i felt we had a little too much lemony items on the table our taste buds went numb from the sweetness/tangyness.

Recommendation: Worth the money and travel! If i could i'd visit it again.

AND THAT WAS NOT ALL. It was about noon when we decided to catch a movie before Part 3 of his plan that day, so travelled down to The Cathay to catch Divergent (MUST WATCH!), with our humble dinner for our-holey-pockets-and-fun-filled-tumtumz @ Eighteen Chefs.

Pre-ended the day off at Marina Bay to catch iLights, however had trouble locating the exhibits and ended up taking a stroll down the bay onto Gardens by the Bay and back to where we parked. Lastly, headed down to Sembawang to meet our friends for a chilling 2 hours at Teo Heng :>
