Quietly taking the back seat of Square 2 on Level 2, Old Hong Kong Station looks towards sharing a variety of delectable food from the informal yet traditional 茶餐廳 (Cha Chan Teng). Also known as Tea Restaurant, these places are usually found to serve an extensive range of Hong Kong cuisine and Hong Kong-style Western cuisine at affordable prices.

As for Old Hong Kong Station, they have modernised the setting by providing customers with comfort and opening up their menu to a range of gourmet selections in commemorations of special occasions. A pity they do not have the habit of washing tea cups/utensils in hot water which is usually part of the tradition (our weird fetish, or perhaps what we call cheap thrill).

Moving on to the main part of our experience, the FOOD.
For just $29++, our meal came with a choice of soup, Dim Sum in a cage, 2 side dishes and a main dish. Talk about value for money!

Longan Red Date drink, a little too dilute for liking. (Ordered seperately)

Sweet and Sour soup, thought this was rather good with the balance of its taste. I'd definitely pick the one here over Din Tai Fung.

A unique way of serving, here we have Dim Sum in a Cage.

Side dish #1

Side dish #2

Hakka Chicken, PapaBurp's favourite dish!

Can't remember what this is called, but it was like a bed of vermicelli topped with minced meat, eggs, mushrooms and shrimp with an additional raw egg. Wasn't to our liking as the taste was bland.

All in all, the food was on average but judging by the price you are paying for, it was definitely a good deal! A nice quiet spot to wind down during lunch away from the lunch crowd in Novena.
